Privacy Policy

This page explains Pinnex in plain language. It covers the Chrome extension and pinnex.net / www.pinnex.net — not OpenAI, ChatGPT, or Google’s Chrome Web Store (they have their own policies).

In plain language (read this first)

  1. Your pins and saved chat snippets stay on your computer. They live in Chrome’s local storage. We do not copy them to Pinnex servers or use them to track you across websites.
  2. The extension reads the ChatGPT page in your browser so pinning and export can work — only on your device. That is not the same as uploading your chats to our servers.
  3. We may receive very small, anonymous statistics about the optional review banner (for example “banner shown” or “button tapped”). They do not include your name, account, chat text, or pins, and they do not use a hidden ID to follow you over time.
  4. If you send written feedback, we only get the text you type, plus extension version and a short browser language code. If you paste private information, that is your choice — please don’t.
  5. If you click “Don’t ask again” on the review banner, we stop sending those statistics and that optional feedback to our servers from that flow.

Who we are

Your pins and exports — what happens to them

They are saved with Chrome’s chrome.storage.local (for example key pinnex_pin_v1), plus a few local counters. They stay on your device until you delete them, clear extension data, or remove the extension.

We do not upload your pins or your chat text to Pinnex as part of normal use. The extension does not use fetch or XMLHttpRequest to send that material to us.

What Pinnex may receive (optional)

Small review-banner statistics

Only if you have not chosen “Don’t ask again”. Each message is tiny: a short event name, a time stamp in milliseconds, and the extension version. No chat, no pins, no passwords, no secret user ID to link many events together.

Optional written feedback

Only if you submit the form. We receive the text you typed, the extension version, and a two-letter language code (from your browser, e.g. it, en). We do not automatically attach your pins or full chats. Anything you paste, you chose to send.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your data.
  • We do not use the extension for cross-site ad tracking.
  • We do not use your pins or chat content for those small statistics.

Where our servers are

Data that does reach Pinnex (optional statistics and optional feedback) is processed on servers operated by Aruba S.p.A. in Italy (EEA).

Website and normal logs

Visiting pinnex.net may create ordinary technical logs (for example IP address and browser type) for security and operation. The optional uninstall feedback page only collects what you submit there.

Chrome Web Store reviews

A public review on Google’s store is handled by Google, not on Pinnex’s servers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, or objection. Contact: support@pinnex.net

Where EU law applies: legitimate interests (running and improving the service, security), legal duties where required, and — for optional feedback — your voluntary action.

How long we keep data

Only as long as needed for the purposes above and as required by law, then we delete or reduce it according to our practices.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data or share it for ad profiling. Hosting may involve Aruba S.p.A. and standard HTTPS logging.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page and change the date at the top. The English version bundled with the extension and published on pinnex.net is the reference.

Technical detail (optional)

HTTPS POST endpoints (JSON) configured in the extension:

  • Review telemetry: fields event, timestamp, version
  • Optional review feedback: fields message, version, lang
